OUR HISTORY
The L.O.V.E (Listen, Overcome, Value, Empower) Project NC (TLP) was founded in 2019 from the vision and aspiration of Danielle Fleming. As a public-school teacher, she saw the impact abuse, poverty, and homelessness have on students daily. According to the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, about 25% of high school freshmen fail to graduate from high school on time. The U.S., which had some of the highest graduation rates of any developed country, now ranks 22nd out of 27 developed countries.
As a result, The L.O.V.E Project NC (TLP) was developed to impact racial equity, decrease racial disparities in underserved communities and develop the social, and emotional skills of young teens.
TLP is a diverse and inclusive organization that has been providing community outreach activities for 1,800+ marginalized teens and young adults. Throughout the year 2019, TLP branched off with a local university and high school to establish developmental self-empowerment programs that help touch over 50 young ladies.
Year to date, TLP has a 90% graduation rate with 0% dropouts. By the end of 2022, we project to have a successful graduation rate of 100%.
